FBK supports Essity's SAP S/4HANA transition, ensuring continuity for Tender Management in Italy
The work reinforces the role of FBK Tender Management platform in keeping tender processes integrated, reliable and aligned with enterprise transformation programs.
Why Tender Management continuity matters
When global organizations modernize their ERP landscape, local business processes cannot be left behind.
For companies operating in regulated, competitive markets, Tender Management is one of those processes. It is connected to commercial continuity, operational control, compliance and the ability to respond effectively to market opportunities. As enterprise systems evolve, tender operations need to remain reliable, connected and aligned with both local requirements and global operating models.
SAP S/4HANA migrations are therefore not only ERP programs. They are also moments where Tender Management integration becomes a business continuity priority.
Essity's transition to SAP S/4HANA
FBK has completed a key project with Essity as part of the company's transition to SAP S/4HANA, a strategic program involving multiple teams, stakeholders and international suppliers.
Essity is a global hygiene and health company headquartered in Sweden, operating in approximately 150 countries and developing products and solutions for consumers, patients, caregivers, healthcare facilities, companies and public environments.
As part of its digital evolution, Essity adopted SAP S/4HANA as its global ERP platform. The goal was to strengthen process standardization, improve the scalability of its application architecture and enable more effective international operations.
Connecting Italian tender operations with a global ERP landscape
As Essity's technology partner for almost ten years, FBK worked to integrate its Tender Management platform within Essity's new ERP landscape in Italy. The objective was to maintain the continuity of Italian tender operations while ensuring alignment with the group's broader application framework.
The work required a careful balance between local tender requirements and global ERP architecture. FBK helped preserve the operational specificities of the Italian market while connecting them to Essity's international model.
In Life Sciences & Healthcare, Tender Management cannot be treated as an isolated workflow. It needs to interact consistently with the systems that govern the business: ERP, master data, commercial flows, approval processes and local and global operating logic.
Platform and professional services working together
This is where FBK's position as the leading Tender Management platform for Life Sciences & Healthcare organizations matters most: helping companies manage tenders across regulated markets, multiple stakeholders and global system architectures.
The work developed over nearly one year and required continuous alignment across IT, business and application stakeholders, including local teams, global structures and international suppliers. Clear scope, shared planning and regular stakeholder coordination helped keep the work controlled and consistent from planning to go live.
For FBK, the work with Essity is part of a broader track record developed in recent years across SAP S/4HANA-related transformation programs. It confirms the ability of FBK Tender Management platform to operate within complex enterprise environments and to keep tender processes connected during major digital transformation programs.
Building on a long-standing partnership
The successful go live marks an important moment in the long-standing collaboration between FBK and Essity. More than the completion of a single project phase, it represents a further step in a relationship built over time on trust, service quality and concrete results.
“SAP S/4HANA migrations are not only ERP programs. For organizations operating in regulated and tender-driven markets, they are moments where tender processes must remain operational, reliable and properly integrated. The work with Essity confirms the value of combining a dedicated Tender Management platform with strong process and integration expertise. We are pleased to have contributed to this important step and to continue building on a relationship developed over many years.”
FBK will continue working with Essity, with the opportunity to build on this experience across new areas of collaboration and, where relevant, additional markets.
As more Life Sciences & Healthcare organizations modernize their enterprise systems, the ability to keep Tender Management connected to core IT landscapes will become increasingly important.
The Essity initiative confirms FBK's role in enabling that continuity.
